Grandpa Billings Pulled Pork BBQ
Mix all ingredients and rub into meat the night before cooking. Wrap the 5-6 Pork Shoulder Butt Roast in foil and slow cook at 200-225 degrees for 8-10 hours in your BBQ opposite of coals.
Once done remove BBQ and let cool for 30 minutes. Then pull and mix the pork before serving.
A Memphis BBQ consist of the BUN, BBQ with COLESLAW on top. Normally no BBQ sauce because the taste is in the RUB!
BBQ RUB INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Ground Cumin
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Paprika
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons Celery Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Thyme
- 1 Tablespoon Coriander
- 4-5 Bay Leaves
COLESLAW INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 Head of Cabbage & 1/4 Head Red Cabbage (You can use pre-shredded cabbage too.)
- 4 Carrots Shredded
- 1/2 Medium Onion
- 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- 3 Tablespoons White Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Prepared Mustard
- 1 Tablespoon Celery Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Onion Salt
- Add Salt & Pepper to Taste
We love BBQ so much, when we RV'd around the US from 2019 to 2022, I made BBQ in a crockpot. I know many will say that's not the same but it tasted amazingly good.
