Retirement Income And The Network Marketing Parallel

retirement income

It’s entirely possible that at some point in your life, you have been introduced in some fashion to the network marketing industry. This may, or may not have been a. positive experience for you, and regardless of the outcome at that time, this post is to illustrate for you, the power of this industry and why it has everything to do with a healthy, retirement income.

Now, I appreciate that the array of companies out there are plentiful, and to some, this can be confusing and overwhelming, but what I am going suggest is that you take a moment and see it in a different light.

See it in the light of endless, opportunity.

Now, I can appreciate the pitch all sounds great initially – be your own boss, choose your lifestyle, and so on – and what I am going to suggest is eliminate the ‘hype’ even for a moment. Let’s peel back away from the excitement and hoorah. Let’s consider, what is possible.

After having spent decades in the profession myself, I have been privileged to the good, and aware of the bad.

But when you really dig deep, what you will uncover is an industry poised for explosive growth and can be one of the most significant solutions to America’s current retirement income savings crisis.

There are more than 70 million baby boomers transitioning into retirement, and what is important to note is that retirement draws a lot of parallels between it and network marketing. They both focus a lot around mind set, there is a significant focus of psychology is both aspects, with money, or income becoming more of the undertone. This isn’t suggesting that the income component isn’t a huge factor, of course it is, but it’s not all of it.

The average 50-year-old has a retirement savings of approximately $50,000, we don’t need to be mathematicians to understand that there will be an absolute need for more retirement income when the time comes. Beyond those dollar amounts? Baby boomers worked too hard, and are tired of feeling guilty of their earlier spending habits, or lack of retirement savings. They are far more likely interested, in moving forward. Exploring the home business space. Incurring a secondary income that will simply complement any retirement income they may collect.

It’s possible, some of these baby boomers are still working away at their corporate positions, and are nearing the line of being, fed up. They’re tired, they’ve been grinding it out in the corporate sector most of their lives. They may have been fortunate to have climbed the corporate ladder, or not. But regardless of the way we look at it, they’re exhausted.

Or, it could simply be a venture to top up their retirement income and occupy some social time.

What’s great about all of those things? They can all be provided by, or for, the network marketing industry.

A quote directly from Forbes magazine stated the following,

“MLM and direct selling programs also offer very low barriers into entrepreneurship, often providing training, support, and ample encouragement along the way.  As retirees begin to realize they need activities that keep them busy, relevant, in good health, and connected to others, the time, energy and cost to participate in these kinds of companies make them very appealing to large segments of the population caught up in these dynamics.”

Sounds like a similar picture I am painting, doesn’t it?

Given the availability and variety, the training and support mentioned herein, the network marketing industry can offer a great option to those who are exploring the freedom of retirement possibilities, those are a frankly just tired of the corporate world, and those who are simply looking to enjoy some extra pocket money. With the capabilities of both part time and full-time commitments, all things are possible. It’s too often we see people excited about retirement, only to have it happen and aren’t even sure what to do with themselves anymore. This proves to be especially difficult for those who are living on a fixed retirement income, with very little wiggle room.

Things that were once constant, become a variable. Eating out becomes a luxury. Traveling is too expensive.

Retirement can be a secluding experience for many, and it doesn’t need to be. A lot of baby boomers find their home in the home business space often times solely for the social interaction and support – and soon enough find themselves earning an income they at one time thought was out of reach.

It is a pretty powerful business model when there is never a notion of, too late.
