The life-blood of any business, including your new home business is, — leads. These are prospects interested in what you have to offer. They may or may not opt to buy what you’re selling, whether it be a product or a service. These leads, when they choose to buy what you are selling, will become your consumers/buyers and they will bring your business to new heights.
Many of the old ways of prospecting, like mass e-mail, aren’t working as well as they once did. Not to say that they are not 100% inefficient, but there’s a new type of prospecting that is taking the world by storm.
In today’s marketplace, social selling is the up and coming method for finding new prospects for your business. There is a 75% chance that you own an active Facebook account. Besides, Facebook has become a part of life not only for you, but for almost everyone that has access to mobile phones and laptops, or in short, technology. Facebook is an excellent way to market both your opportunity and your retail products since it’s one of the rising online selling sites.
A good B2C place to market is Facebook. That’s business to consumer – so selling your retail products there would make perfect sense. With an advertiser’s account, you may be able to delve deep into Facebook’s massive database of users and identify just the right prospect for your products. Facebook has this very cool feature wherein you may filter the location and target specific places, age bracket, and even people who are into your niche! But, just make sure that your content is relevant to your target market, otherwise, your content would be disregarded and your paid ads would go to waste.
You can advertise for free there by posting valuable content to groups and your newsfeed. Keyword is ‘valuable’, you want it to be share-worthy (something people will want to share with their network.) Rarely do people want to share a blatant advertisement.
To market your business opportunity, LinkedIn is known as one of the best places for B-to-B (business-to-business) marketing. It’s made of up of professionals and business owners. These are people with an above average income. Some estimates say $160,000 per year compared to Facebook with around $60,000 per year.
First, you want to have a compelling profile. Next, participate in groups. Then connect with your target prospects. You can then send an email to your connections — make sure it’s not a blatant ‘pitch’. You want to develop a relationship first – then offer your opportunity later.
Social selling is the future of marketing and you’ll want to incorporate it into your prospecting mix right away.
