The Fearless Networker: Welcome Rick! How long have you been involved in the Network Marketing profession? And, how long have you been with your current company?
Rick Billings: I’ve been involved in this profession for a total of 10 years. And, joined my current company on the first day they opened almost 5 years ago.
The Fearless Networker: What is the current size of your organization? And, how many people have you personally sponsored?
Rick Billings: Currently, the organization is at about 1200 people and of those I’ve personally sponsored 97.
The Fearless Networker: So, 10 years ago when you started your Network Marketing career what was your biggest fear?
Rick Billings: Being self-employed my entire life, I had no fears in starting another business.
The Fearless Networker: As a professional entrepreneur, I’m curious to know what is your favorite business book?
Rick Billings: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
The Fearless Networker: That’s a CLASSIC! Did you have any struggles along the way to achieving success in this profession?
Rick Billings: I did! I struggled with trying to understand and accept why people did not act on their original intension to build a successful business.
The Fearless Networker: Can you provide advice to someone that is entering this profession for the first time?
Rick Billings: Do not reinvent the wheel. Follow-up and practice the exact instructions of your sponsor or up-line team. Spend the first 30 days completely dedicated and focused and master the first four steps of prospecting.
The Fearless Networker: What strategy do you utilize to recruit new people into your organization?
Rick Billings: You’ll never succeed if people don’t want or need what you have in your business; if it be products, services or income. So, being a great communicator, listening and truly caring about people is what’s allowed me to create my success.
Rick Billings: I have always loved sharing and helping other people and Network Marketing has allowed me to do this every day. Plus, I’ve made so many international friends that I would not have without this profession.
The Fearless Networker: What have been some tools you’ve utilized for team building?
Rick Billings: I built a team training and support website and also have a private FaceBook group. The team also uses WhatsApp on the smartphone for efficient communicating.
Follow-up to training allows me to answer questions and get team members to role play on what they’ve learned.
The Fearless Networker: Do you have any recommendations for those pursuing Networking Marketing as a lasting and successful business venture?
Rick Billings: Never stop learning. Study other successful leaders and become a leader yourself. When you can have your business go from your head to your heart, you will never go to work a day in your life, because you won’t consider it work.
Rick Billings: You have to give to get! Always provide value; that is how you change people’s lives.
The Fearless Networker: Are their specific, productive actions you follow in growing your business?
Rick Billings: We teach people that prospecting is KEY to the success of your business. Set a goal of sponsoring four people in your first eight weeks.
Learn how to greet and qualify people quickly. Greeting is like building rapport; getting people to talk openly to you. Then we utilize your methods for qualifying them. Once they’re qualified, invite them to watch a video.
Follow-up and repeat.
The Fearless Networker: Stoked to know that your are using my methods of qualifying and receiving positive results! If you could impact the people reading this, what would you share?
Rick Billings: I would say that if you’re reading this, you have something inside you that will make you successful. Never let ANYONE, even the little person that sometimes sits on your shoulders, tell you differently. You have all the abilities to succeed, just like millions of people before you. When you become really passionate and have the desire to win and create massive success, no one can stop you except YOU!
Wake up every day knowing that you’re going to help change someone’s life for the good and greatness will come to you. And lastly, always have a learning mindset.
The Fearless Networker: I’m going to close on something you said earlier that is really powerful. Thanks for your insight Rick!
